Ain’t Nothin’ Like Kountry-Style Wings with an Asian Twist!
When game day rolls around or you’re just cravin’ something sweet, sticky, and packed with bold flavor, these Teriyaki Chicken Wings hit the spot every time. They’re crispy on the outside, juicy on the inside, and coated in a rich homemade sauce that’ll have you lickin’ your fingers clean. Let’s get cookin’!

What You’ll Need:
For the Chicken:
Chicken wings (party style or whole)
Garlic powder (to taste)
Onion powder (to taste)
Chinese Five Spice (use lightly – it’s strong!)
Soy sauce (enough to lightly coat)
Oil for frying
For the Teriyaki Sauce:
1 cup brown sugar
1 cup chicken broth
1 cup teriyaki sauce
Garlic powder (to taste)
2 tablespoons hoisin sauce
2 tablespoons water
2 tablespoons cornstarch
Directions
Season the Chicken:
In a large bowl, toss your wings with garlic powder, onion powder, a pinch of Chinese Five Spice, and a splash of soy sauce. Mix well to coat evenly.
Fry Until Crispy
Heat oil in a deep fryer or large skillet to 350°F. Fry wings in batches for about 12–15 minutes or until golden brown and crispy. Remove and let drain on a wire rack or paper towels.
Make the Sauce
In a wok or deep skillet over medium heat, whisk together brown sugar, chicken broth, teriyaki sauce, garlic powder, and hoisin sauce. Stir until smooth.
Thicken It Up
Mix cornstarch and water in a small bowl to make a slurry. Slowly pour into the sauce while whisking constantly until thickened (about 2–3 minutes).
Toss and Finish
Add your crispy wings to the sauce and toss until each piece is coated in that sticky, sweet glaze. Serve hot. Garnish with sesame seeds or green onions if desired.
And that’s it! Plate ‘em up, sprinkle on some sesame seeds if you like, and enjoy!
Serve these wings up with jasmine rice, steamed broccoli, or your favorite dipping sauce. They’re perfect for game day or backyard cookouts.
**Note: You can use more or less seasoning and ingredients to your liking**
Flavor Tip from Kountry Kevin
Wanna turn these wings up a notch? Around here, we keep it Kountry with a little kick—so don’t be shy about addin’ some Kountryville flavor to make these wings your own. Before frying, sprinkle on a good coat of Kountryville’s Kountry Kick Seasoning. It adds a bold, zesty punch that brings out the sweetness of the teriyaki and gives the wings a little heat on the back end. That extra Kountry kick’ll have folks licking fingers and asking for seconds!
