Craving takeout-style sesame chicken with a homemade twist? This Sho’nuff Sesame Chicken recipe delivers bold flavor with a scratch-made glaze that’ll make you say “Yessuh!” Forget the bottle—this one’s all from the soul of the South!

What you'll need:
2 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
2 eggs
2 tablespoons smoked paprika
2 tablespoon Kinder’s The Blend SPG Seasoning
1 tablespoon Slap Ya Mama Cajun Seasoning
Red pepper flakes (optional)
Peanut oil, for frying
For the sesame sauce:
½ cup flour
¼ cup sesame oil
3 garlic cloves, crushed
4 tablespoons soy sauce
1 cup brown sugar
2 tablespoons cornstarch
½ cup vegetable broth
Instructions:
Heat a skillet over medium-high heat and add peanut oil.
In a small bowl, beat 2 eggs and set aside.
In a large bowl, add diced chicken.
Season the chicken with Kinder’s seasoning, Slap Ya Mama, and smoked paprika. Massage the seasonings into the chicken thoroughly.
Pour the beaten eggs into the bowl with the seasoned chicken and mix well.
In a large zipper bag or mixing bowl, add flour.
Add several pieces of the egg-coated chicken into the bag or bowl of flour. Shake or toss until the chicken is well coated.
Carefully place the coated chicken pieces into the hot oil.
Fry until golden brown and the internal temperature reaches 165°F.
Remove the chicken from the oil and place on a baking pan with a rack to drain and cool.
Repeat the breading and frying process until all chicken pieces are cooked, drained, and cooled.
In a medium saucepan over medium-high heat, add sesame oil and crushed garlic. Stir for about 30 seconds.
Add soy sauce and brown sugar to the pan. Stir until sugar is dissolved.
In a small bowl, mix cornstarch with vegetable broth until smooth. Pour the mixture into the saucepan and stir until the sauce thickens.
Add the cooked chicken to the sauce, tossing to coat each piece evenly.
That’s it! Serve your Sho’nuff Sesame Chicken with fried rice, white rice, vegetables, or egg rolls.
Note: Adjust seasonings and ingredients to your taste.
